Many residents on the Costa Blanca have followed the progress of Javea boy Gerard McGrath, who was seriously injured in a motor cycle accident 6 years ago.

Fund raising on the Costa Blanca enabled him to take the Trip of Lifetime on the Jubilee Sailing TrustDBC##1s Tall Ship, The Lord Nelson, in Canary Islands last February.

Since GerardDBC##1s return, he has been making steady progress and is now walking well and on occasions, without assistance. This is a fantastic achievement and demonstrates his motivation to improve.

The fundraising has enabled him to see a top specialist who confirms that he can recover normal speech with daily practice which would strengthen the muscles and respiratory system.
