The Xàbia Històrica trade association unveiled a new activity this morning with which they intend to animate the summer evenings.
«Música al carrer» (or «Music in the street») is an extension the successful music programme that ran every Friday throughout spring, «Los viernes que no pare la música» (or «Please donDBC##1t stop the music on Fridays»).
This new campaign offers music in different corners of the Old Town four nights a week from Wednesday to Saturday. Every Wednesday beginning at 8.00pm there will be music on Calle Mayor, on Thursdays, from 8.00pm in front of the church, on Friday from 9.00pm in the Plaza de Baix, and on Saturdays the concerts will begin at 8.45pm in varying locations. The campaign begins this Saturday in the Plaza de Baix with «Solo dos», to be followed by SaxExpres (July 14 in Calle Mayor), Trio Cordata (July 20 in the Placeta del Convent), Folk Jazz Trio (July 27 in Calle La Coma), Trio Cordata (July 28 in front of the Tourist Information Office in the square), 3 and 4 August there will be percussion through the streets of Javea, Trio Cordata (Aug. 10 in Calle Mayor), SaxExpres Quartet (August 11 in the church square), Folk Jazz Trio (Aug. 17 in the Plaza del Trinquet) SaxExpres (August 18 at the crossroad of Santa Teresa and San Bertomeu) SaxExpres Quartet (24 in Calle La Coma), Precussió (August 25 in the Placeta del Convent) and SaxExpres Quartet (August 31 in the Plaza del Trinquet). The initiative, funded by the trade association, aims to provide a lively incentive to visit the Old Town throughout the summer, as well to liven up the atmosphere for those dining or enjoying drinks and tapas in the many establishments located there.
The Xàbia Historical Association would also like to remind everyone that tomorrow Thursday sees the inauguration of the first «Shopping Night», a pilot project in which 29 shops will remain open until after midnight. A «shopping class» is scheduled for 7.00pm in the meeting room of the Museum, and some twenty bars, restaurants and taverns will complement the evening with an offering of wine or beer plus a tapa at two euros, all of this animated by the traditional music of the Romàntica del Saladar and la colla XirimitabDBC##1s
